Hi there!

Hi there!

Victoire Mandonnaud is a graduate of Columbia University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Master of International Affairs (MIA). Her academic background combines anthropology, economics, and international relations, with a specialization in data analysis, quantitative methods, and the functioning of the United Nations and other international organizations. She was also expected to begin a PhD in Fall 2025.

Since graduating in early 2025, she has worked as a consultant for the United Nations Joint SDG Fund Secretariat and later with the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing for Development, where she deepened her expertise through direct engagement with the work of the Expert Group on Debt.

In parallel, Victoire leads a youth organization active in more than 170 countries and is developing On My Way, a real-time mobilization and coordination startup designed to move networks into action. The platform structures local initiatives, supports programme deployment, builds partnerships with public institutions and civil society actors, and enables simple tracking of commitments—accelerating the practical implementation of policies aligned with the 2030 Agenda and, more broadly, renewed mechanisms of solidarity. On My Way has been presented at major international convenings, including the UN General Assembly, Davos, and COP, among others. Upcoming partnerships include programme deployments with the Ministry of Agriculture of Liberia and the Ministries of Youth in Sierra Leone and Côte d’Ivoire, among additional public-sector counterparts.

She is notably leading the organization of a Conference of the Parties on Youth Matters, convened through The Global Call in partnership with youth organizations and ministers seeking to engage. The agenda also includes societal innovation proposals such as the Youth Overwrite, a universal basic income model for youth, as well as other complementary mechanisms.

Alongside her academic and entrepreneurial work, Victoire is also an artist, singer-songwriter (13 tracks album), and photographer. Her paintings have been exhibited in New York and Paris and are currently displayed at the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations. Her artistic work explores the tension between lived human experience and institutional power structures, and how systems of authority reshape social and natural orders.

A Social Solidarity Currency: Turning Solidarity into a Debt Reduction Instrument

A Social Solidarity Currency: Turning Solidarity into a Debt Reduction Instrument

Global public debt surpassed $108 trillion in 2024, with developing countries carrying over $31 trillion, and facing debt-servicing costs that now exceed their health and education budgets. The status quo is clear: debt will not be erased, and many countries will not be able to repay it under current conditions. To move beyond this reality, innovative solutions must be deployed outside existing mechanisms. The Social Solidarity Currency is one possible innovation to address this issue. The Social Solidarity Currency is a personal proposal developed by the author and does not reflect the views or official positions of the UN Special Envoy on Financing for Development, the United Nations, or any affiliated institution.
