Under Influence, your support produces the policy research, commentary, fellowship program, Next Vanguard podcast, and convenings that put next-generation thinking into global circulation. Under Activation, it funds the NEXUS program, which embeds policy experts directly inside emerging market governments to close the gap between research and real-world uptake. Under Innovation, it supports the Impact Generator providing microgrants, mentorship, and networks to help youth-led policy ideas reach implementation on the ground.

Donation FAQ's

Is my donation to MESA tax-deductible?

Yes. MESA Institute for Global Impact is a Delaware-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

What does my donation support?

Gifts to MESA fund the three core engines of our work. Under Influence, your support produces the policy research, commentary, fellowship program, Next Vanguard podcast, and convenings that put next-generation thinking into global circulation. Under Activation, it funds the NEXUS program, which embeds policy experts directly inside emerging market governments to close the gap between research and real-world uptake. Under Innovation, it supports the Impact Generator — providing microgrants, mentorship, and networks to help youth-led policy ideas reach implementation on the ground.

How is funding allocated across programs?

30% goes to core team and operations; 20% to forums and convenings; 18% to regional studies and fellowships; 15% to content and digital platform; 12% to policy production; and 5% to the Impact Generator Program.

How do you measure impact?

MESA tracks impact across all three pillars. For Influence: policy papers published and cited and platform reach across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and newsletter. For Activation: fellows placed in governments and institutions, and policy recommendations adopted or advanced by host institutions. For Innovation: youth-led initiatives funded through the Impact Generator, and civic and institutional partnerships established. Baseline measurement begins Q3 2026, with KPIs reported annually in MESA's partner impact report.

Does MESA accept corporate or institutional contributions?

Yes. We welcome support from corporations and foundations committed to next-generation leadership, Global South inclusion, and the future of global governance. To discuss partnership opportunities, contact Brennan Kraus at brennan@mesa-institute.org.

Can I designate my gift to a specific program?

Yes. You may direct your gift toward a specific pillar — Influence, Activation, or Innovation — or toward a named program such as NEXUS or the Impact Generator. Please reach out to discuss how to structure a targeted contribution.

Does MESA accept planned or legacy gifts?

Yes. If you are interested in including MESA in your estate plans or exploring other giving vehicles, please contact us directly.

Does MESA receive government funding?

MESA is an independent, non-partisan organization and does not receive funding from U.S. or foreign governments. Our independence is sustained through private contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
