Ibrahim Ali is an MPA/ID candidate at Harvard Kennedy School, where he focuses on development finance, labour markets, and emerging markets policy. Before HKS, he was a consultant at BCG Nairobi, advising philanthropic foundations, governments, multilateral institutions, and private investors on varying development strategies, climate finance, and investments across Africa. His current research interest sits at the intersection of two questions: why Africa's youth employment crisis has been structurally misdiagnosed for a generation, and how frontier AI deployment in African markets will reshape — for better or worse — the labour market conditions that follow. Ibrahim is fluent in English, Swahili, Somali, and Arabic.
