Arif Husain is a senior public policy professional with more than 18 years of experience at Transport Canada (Canada's Federal Ministry of Transport), specializing in climate resilience, surface transportation, and intergovernmental affairs. Currently, as a senior policy advisor, he leads initiatives to strengthen the climate resilience of Canada's transportation sector and serves as Transport Canada's lead for climate resilience in aviation, representing Canada at international forums, including the International Civil Aviation Organization. Throughout his career, he has provided strategic analysis and decision-ready advice to Ministers and senior officials while building trusted relationships with external partners. Prior to joining the Climate Change Adaptation Policy team in 2017, Arif spent more than nine years in the Surface Transportation Policy Directorate at Transport Canada, where he served as the federal policy lead for urban congestion and urban freight movement. Arif holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Memorial University.
